Having worked in a number of roles and provisions across education over the last two decades, such as mainstream, alternative provision, home ed and private tuition – this gives me a good overview of the challenges faced by educationalists, learners and families. Having built Journey from the ground up, this has given me a fantastic overview of the development of all aspects of a learning provision. As Journey is a multi- strand business encompassing a range of services and products this has meant adapting and evolving quickly, building solid relationships and partnerships with Doncaster organisations, training a team of outstanding leaders of learning and curating and creating trust within the communities.
I have operated as both MLT and SLT in mainstream schools in Doncaster for my entire career. I was particularly proud to a central part of the team that helped take schools to Outstanding. My current position has been an excellent learning journey of leadership across all areas of education, managing multiple projects over multiple sites at any one time.
Experienced line management responsibilities for large teams both in and out of mainstream education, particularly in my CEO role for Journey. Experienced Data Handling for exam outcomes throughout all roles.
Through my role in Journey, I have been responsible for sourcing income streams from the ground up and working across the public and private sector to secure financial stability, a good profit margin and a well forecasted growth plan. Whilst in mainstream school, I was responsible for department budgets.
Straddling both the Education industry as well as the corporate world will allow me to offer a wealth of experience in terms of strategy for school improvement from both slants, as well as teaching, learning and engagement and staff development. My experiences have given me a wealth of experiences and teachings that will enrich my ability to fulfil my trustee position
